CCA Recognized as a Math Leader by Georgia Department of Education

Coweta Charter Academy is honored as a Math Leader by GaDOE, one of 13 charter schools recognized for exceptional growth or achievement in math during the 2023-2024 school year.

Coweta Charter Academy has earned the distinguished Math Leader designation from the Georgia Department of Education, joining an elite group of 624 schools across the state recognized for exceptional achievement or growth in mathematics during the 2023-2024 school year. Impressively, Coweta Charter Academy is one of only 13 charter schools in Georgia to receive this honor.

The Math Leader designation celebrates schools that demonstrate outstanding performance in the percentage of students scoring at the Proficient Learner level or above on Georgia Milestones mathematics assessments. This recognition reflects the perseverance, commitment, and innovative approaches of Coweta Charter Academy’s educators, students, and families in advancing math achievement and implementing Georgia's new K-12 Mathematics Standards.

CCA: Math Leader School

“Coweta Charter Academy is thrilled that our students' hard work and the continuous efforts of our faculty have been recognized, and we look forward to setting the bar even higher in the years to come,” said Angela Lassetter, Superintendent.

Georgia’s new K-12 Mathematics Standards, introduced during the 2023-2024 school year, emphasize deep learning of math concepts, aiming to prepare students for future academic and career opportunities. The early success of these standards is evident, with state assessments showing increased math scores across six of the seven Georgia Milestones tests.

Coweta Charter Academy’s recognition as a Math Leader underscores its dedication to academic excellence and highlights its role as a model for other charter schools statewide.

For more details on the Math Leader program and to view the full list of recognized schools, read the Georgia Department of Education’s press release: GaDOE Press Release.
