Cell Phone, Smart Watch, & Personal Electronic Device Policy
No student, unless authorized by the Superintendent or School Director or his/her designee, shall use or operate any electronic telecommunication device, including but not limited to, any cell phone, smart watches, facsimile system, radio paging service, intercom, electro-mechanical paging device, walkie talkie, or gaming device in the school building, on the school grounds, during a school-sponsored activity, or on any bus used to transport school students to and from events.
SMART WATCHES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY AT ALL. Cell phones must remain turned off and at the bottom of a student’s book bag at all times. Cellphones cannot be carried into bathrooms, are not allowed to be in students’ pockets, and cannot be carried anywhere on a student’s person while on school property. Please see the CCA Smart Watch, Cell Phone, and Personal Electronic Device Policy.
Cell phones and all other telecommunication devices must be turned off, stowed away out of sight in a student’s book bag, and not used while on school property and/or during a school-sponsored event. Students do not need their phones/smart watches for instruction. Phones must not be utilized while on school property for any reason.
The school is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones or other electronic equipment, including but not limited to, radios and gaming devices. We strongly recommend that these items be left at home.
Use of cell phones or other electronic devices at prohibited times by a student shall result in the confiscation of the cell phone or electronic device and at a minimum the student’s parents/guardian will be called to report the infraction. School personnel have the option of using other corrective strategies for repeat offenders.
Confiscated phones and devices will only be returned to a parent or guardian when a request has been made and a release form provided by the school has been signed.
IMPORTANT: Parents/guardians should not use cell phones or other electronic devices for conversation, recordings, or photography that may include other students and staff while in the school.
