Dismissal
Students must leave the school grounds immediately after dismissal, unless enrolled in the After Care Program or an enrichment program. Students may not be checked out after 2:00 pm.
Ride sharing drivers are not permitted to check students out from school unless identified on the Emergency Contact Sheet and a valid driver’s license or passport is presented verifying their identity.
After Care students will not be dismissed during regular dismissal.
Only individuals listed on the EMERGENCY CONTACT SHEET will be allowed to pick-up students from the school. Parents must maintain and update, as necessary, information whenever changes occur. Astate or federal issued valid photo identification card or passport will be required of all individuals picking-up students. If someone arrives at the school to seek the release of a student, and the person's name is not on the Emergency Contact Card, or the person does not have valid photo identification, the student will not be released.
Failure to provide the school legal documentation outlining restricted visitation rights will result in both parent(s) listed on the Birth Certificate being permitted to pick up a child. Friends and strangers will be denied access to a student in the absence of verified parental consent.
Students not picked up on time will be placed in the After-School Program (ASP) and be charged applicable fees (including registration fees and daily drop-in rate of $25/day).
*Any child picked up from the After-School program after 6:00 pm will be charged a $15.00 late fee/per minute.
Some examples of changes to child’s dismissal plan include, but are not limited to:
- An ASP student going home in “parent-pick-up” instead of going to the After-School Program.
- Requesting that a student be placed in the After-School Program for the day instead of going to “parent-pick-up.”
No phone calls will be accepted for the above examples. Transportation change requests must be emailed to carpool@cowetacharteracademy.org prior to 2:00pm.
