Gifted Education Program
CCA students in grades one through five who demonstrate a high degree of intellectual and/or creative abilities, exhibit an exceptionally high degree of motivation, and/or excel in specific academic fields are provided with special instructional services. These services will be provided through the advanced content or resource model. Eligibility criteria for placement in this program is determined by the State Board of Education and GaDOE. Newly enrolled students coming from another school system in Georgia will be accepted into the Gifted Program once official documentation is received from the previous school system.
Middle School students who previously received Gifted Education Services in elementary school will be served through their academic courses or through advanced content or resource model.
Gifted students that are not performing proficiently in their core content courses, ELA, Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies will be placed on probation and/or removed from the Gifted Program. Gifted students that fail repeatedly to engage in the assigned Gifted activities or are absent for more than five (5) days unexcused may be placed on probation and/or removed from the Gifted Program.
