Parent's Right to Know
Coweta Charter Academy operates a School-wide Title 1 Program. Parents of our students have the right to be involved in their child’s education by requesting meetings, information related to their child’s progress and achievement, as well as, requesting and receiving information in relation to your child’s teacher qualifications.
Dear Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s):
At Coweta Charter Academy, we are very proud of our teachers and feel they are ready for the coming school year and are prepared to give your child a high-quality education. In compliance with the requirements of the Every Students Succeeds Act Coweta Charter Academy would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student’s teacher(s) and/ or paraprofessional(s). The following information may be requested:
- Whether the student’s teacher—
- has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction;
- is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; and
- is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
- Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
If you wish to request information concerning your child’s teacher’s and/ or paraprofessional’s qualifications, please contact Trina Weaver, our Academic Director, by phone at 770-727-5959 or at trina.weaver@cowetacharteracademy.org.
